E. W. "Buck" Lawrimore, based in Charlotte, NC, has been a consultant to hundreds of different business, government, nonprofit and community organizations since founding his firm, Lawrimore Inc., in 1979. He has always been committed to helping his clients achieve greater success. Specializing initially in strategic marketing and communications, he was called on by a large financial institution to develop a strategic marketing plan. The officers of the institution were so pleased with that plan, they asked him if he would lead the organization through a comprehensive strategic planning process. Since that time, more than 20 years ago, Buck Lawrimore has facilitated all kinds of strategic planning for all kinds of organizations.

In addition to many businesses, he has been a strategic planning consultant for 15 public libraries. These included telephone surveys of hundreds of local residents as well as elected officials to help assess what the community and its leaders wanted from their local libraries.

Recently he was the lead strategic planning consultant on a team that developed a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for two North Carolina counties hard-hit by the loss of thousands of textile jobs. This project was funded by a $300,000 grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
